LET'S TALK GEAR

We're not going to pretend to be experts but the one thing we do know is that we love a simple set up! Our gear is easy to use, light weight and VERY beginner friendly. So if you're interested in knowing what we use to capture and create vlogs or simply what we're travelling with, you're in the right place!

We LOVE the Go Pro camera for 2 key reasons, first, its so easy to use for beginners, comes with amazing automatic colour correction, a wide-lens AND digital stabilisation! Secondly, its so small, light-weight and discreet, we feel so confident filming on the Go Pro and I think that really helped us ease into the confidence vlogging in public.

Favourite!

GO PRO HERO 10

This tripod is just like the popular Joby Gorillapod BUT way cheaper and more reliable! Need we say more?

Sound is so IMPORTANT to the quality of your video and the Go Pro Media Mod will improve your sound 10X! You can use the built in microphone (which is pretty great) or you can attach another mic with the aux!

GO PRO MEDIA MOD

This is our second mic, we use this on the Sony camera and we plug it into the Go Pro when we're in a noisy environment like a restaurant or plane and need our mic to be a bit closer to us. This is an affordable entry level mic, its not the best on the market but does a good job.

Google "what is the best vlogging camera" and 9/10 results will recommend this camera. It has an entry level price (YES! that is an entry level price for a camera 😓). It's a pretty good camera but the kit lens leaves a lot to be desired so we recommend upgrading as soon as your budget allows it.

SONY ZV-E10

Our BIG lense! This is actually a great lens for the price point. Our picture is so crisp and clean! The only negative is that we can't really vlog on it because it is not wide enough but hey, thats what the Go Pro is for! If you're just starting out we don't recommend buying an expensive lens until your more comfortable with your camera, its a big expense to fork out and you don't need!

SONY 18-105mm zoom lens

If you follow along our vlogs, you'll know that after over a year of flying this drone it malfunctioned and sadly crashed to its demise 😩. But we can still recommend it! It's light-weight which is so important when travelling and its a great entry-level drone. We can't recommend enough to buy an entry level drone for your first one, they have a bit of a learning curve and we've met so many travellers who have crashed much more expensive drones than this one!

dji mini 2

This seems like it's not necessary but when you're travelling and you only have one plug-adapter being able to charge 3 batteries at once is a total game-changer!

Talking of batteries, these are worth the investment for the extended film time!
